The development has been completed for Marvel’s Spider-Man and Peter Parker’s latest adventure has been sent to manufacturing ahead of its September 7 release date.

Announced on Twitter by developer Insomniac Games, they used the popular Spider-Man meme to celebrate the occasion:

Marvel’s Spider-Man was a big part of PlayStation’s E3 2018 Showcase and Mr. Negative, Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, and Vulture all made an appearance during the gameplay demo. The demo also teased a sixth mystery villain who appeared in the final seconds of the trailer, leaving fans around the world in suspense.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 also gave us a ton of new information about this original adventure by Insomniac Games, including that Silver Sable and her security force would be another obstacle in Spider-Man’s path and that Laura Bailey, of Uncharted and Final Fantasy fame, would be joining the cast and lending her voice to Mary Jane.

Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 will be released on September 7, 2018 and Sony will be offering a Limited Edition Marvel’s Spider-Man PlayStation 4 Pro bundle that features an Amazing Red-colored 1TB PS4 Pro.

Tom Hardy has shared his thoughts on Venom and Eddie Brock’s strange relationship in Sony’s upcoming film.

Per EW, a new look at Venom has been unveiled, which you can view below. The movie will follow Eddie Brock getting suddenly exposed to the alien-like entity, symbiote. As a result, the journalist will find it difficult trying to deal with this pesky alien inside his head.

Speaking to EW, Hardy said he thinks Eddie and Venom’s relationship is similar to Ren and Stimpy’s from the classic animated series.

“It’s a bit like Ren and Stimpy, you know?” Hardy said. “They have different sounds. I always saw Venom as sounding like a James Brown lounge lizard, and Eddie Brock is kind of…I don’t know, an everyday kind of guy even though he’s inherited this type of beast.”

According to director Ruben Fleischer, the movie will focus on this unusual relationship and the many ways Eddie and Venom will try to work together.

“Usually a human gets imbued with powers or an alien comes from outer space and has to figure out how to live on our Earth,” Fleischer said. “But this is really about a relationship between two people who have to work together to create this hybrid symbiotic relationship.”

Eddie Brock is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, and his earliest appearance was a cameo in Web of Spider-Man #18 (September 1986), before making his first full appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 (May 1988) as the original and most well-known incarnation of Venom.

The film opens in theaters on October 4 in Australia, and October 5 in the U.S. and UK.

“It really is a homecoming,” says Tom Holland, our latest leading man to dawn the mantle, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”

Also starring in Spider-Man: Homecoming; Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle, with Laura Harrier (One Life to Live) and Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel) set to play two of Peter’s other friends. Michael Keaton is reportedly in talks to play the film’s villain (or, at least, one of the film’s villains).

Homecoming is scripted by Vacation writers/directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley and will be helmed by Jon Watts in direction duties. Production is set to begin on the film this summer in Atlanta with the film swinging into theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017.

This bit of news comes with word from Borys Kit of the Hollywood Reporter, who earlier today on Twitter stated;

An interesting bit of news indeed for this third take on the Spider-Man franchise, if the rumor is to be believed. Though primarily a musician, Zendaya isn’t exactly green in the world of acting. Her television credits include K.C. Undercover, Zapped and a guest role on the Anthony Anderson-led comedy-drama Black-ish.

Holland will make his debut as the web-head himself in Captain America: Civil War, where he will join Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with a host of other MCU characters when the film is released on May 6, 2016. After which, Holland will go about spinning his own webs in his solo film with (thus far) Zendaya and Marisa Tomei, who will be playing Aunt May.

A co-production between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, Spider-Man is slated for release in theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017.

“Wait a sec” you might be asking, “A Venom movie with no Spider-Man?” Trust me, you don’t stand alone in your confusion (possible vexation).

Venom first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #254 in 1984. An inky black symbiotic suit of alien origin, Venom was originally worn by Peter Parker. It would be several years before Parker would discard the alien suit, thereafter finding its ‘proper’ mate in rival photographer Eddie Brock. Brock would go on to name their union of mutual hatred for the wall-crawler as Venom. The black alien suit would go on to have numerous iterations and be worn by a host of characters in the Marvel Universe.

Venom has appeared on the big screen before. Sam Raimi’s (abysmal in this writer’s opinion) Spider-Man 3 saw the alien suit worn by actor Topher Grace. Since that debacle, word has sparked time and again about the possible resurgence of Spider-Man’s long time rival/sometimes ally in a solo misadventure, with the previous attempts ultimately failing to materialize. It appears that Sony is attempting to once again bring the black suit to the big screen.

Eric Fineman and Palak Patel are currently overseeing the Venom project over at Sony.

Switching up the flow of news from the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, Kevin Feige has dropped some more (guarded) info on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Phase Three of their leviathan-esque franchise kicking off in 2016, Feige and company gave waiting fans what they can in way of news during a recent interview with Empire.

Among the topics discussed were Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, the recently acquired character of Spider-Man and — by no shall we forget — the Black Panther!

On Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, sequel to 2014’s summer blockbuster hit, Feige had this for us about the different iterations of the galaxy’s most uncoath team of ‘kinda-sorta’ superheroes;

“There’ve been many different incarnations of the Guardians over the years in the comics and we’ll catch a glimpse of additions over the course of the movie.”

About Thanos, the Marvel franchise’s looming villain who will undoubtedly go against the team (whichever incarnation that may be), Feige says;

“I wouldn’t look too hard in that movie for Thanos. The next time we see Thanos he will not be messing around. It will be, ‘Oh, that’s why they’ve been teasing this villain for five years!”

From cosmic threats down to the street level, Feige offered a word or two on the status of our friendly neighborhood web-head as well, and his stake in the broader MCU.

“Smaller scale is all relative….”, says Feige. “It’s going to be as big and spectacular a Spider-Man film as has ever been made. But it’s a Peter Parker story and has more opportunity to be focused on the story of a 15-year-old kid going to high school.”

From high school to the halls of Asgard, Feige went on to talk about what we may (or may not) expect from the upcoming Thor sequel, Ragnarok.

“I don’t think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie’s going to be. It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk… The film takes place within the cosmos primarily, which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

Ragnarok was previously alluded to in Avengers: Age of Ultron and — judging from the tone of the scene — the third Thor film hints of a particularly dire situation for our thunder god and his Asgardian brethren.

And last — yet certainly not least — Feige talked about the upcoming, increasingly anticipated, Black Panther film, its cast, as well as its connection to the MCU.

“This one is important,” Feige says “It’s a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T’Challa in Wakanda, and what is means to be a king. T’Challa’s story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward.”

Currently, Phase Three of the MCU will consist of; Captain America: Civil War, which will be released on May 6, 2016. Doctor Strange, slated for release on November 4, 2016, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on May 5, 2017, the yet untitled Spider-Man film on July 28, 2017, Thor:Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017, with Black Panther following suit on February 6, 2018.

All this leads up to the Avengers: Infinity War Part I on May 4, 2018, followed by Ant-Man & Wasp on July 6, 2018, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, Avengers: Infinity War Part II on May 3, 2019 and *shakes exhausted fingers* Marvel’s The Inhumans on July 12, 2019.

ALL this…with yet three more untitled Marvel film project set for May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020. It indeed will be a busy time for the studio and comic film nerds alike.
