In addition to official series panels, AMC SDCC plans include fan activations throughout the weekend such as a Walking Dead themed booth (#4237) in the Convention Center. There, fans can stop by to take photos of themselves among Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) infamous “lineup” from the season six finale. There will also be a Fear the Walking Dead yacht at the Fifth Avenue Pier behind the Convention Center where fans can experience life aboard the Abigail.

The AMC SDCC schedule kicks off at noon on Friday, July 22 with a Fear the Walking Dead panel will feature appearances by cast members Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand and Josh McDermitt along with Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer, Director and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero and Executive Producer David Alpert.

Immediately after the Fear the Walking Dead panel, the AMC SDCC schedule delivers The Walking Dead with cast members Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Frank Dillane, Lorenzo James Henrie, Mercedes Mason, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia along with Executive Producer and Showrunner David Erickson, Executive Producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and Dave Alpert.

Both Walking Dead series panels will be moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.

The AMC SDCC Preacher panel then happens that Friday night with Kevin Smith moderating a panel that includes cast members Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti and Graham McTavish along with Executive Producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Co-Executive Producer Garth Ennis.

A sneak peek at Geeking Out will be revealed at Kevin Smith’s own annual Comic Con panel on Saturday night. It will also feature a compilation of Kevin’s favorite scenes from season five of Comic Book Men.

The Boys revolves around the government’s decision to have the CIA monitor all superheroes using a Black Ops team called “The Boys” and what happens when a Scottish conspiracy nut named Wee Hughie, whose girlfriend was killed by a superhero, is inducted to join the group when they’re reformed to take down rogue superheroes who have gotten out of control.

Back in 2010, Adam McKay (The Big Short, Anchorman) had originally intended to direct a live-action film adaption of The Boys by way of Columbia Pictures’ adaptation of The Boys, complete with Simon Pegg (Ennis’ real life inspiration for the character) as “Wee” Hughie Campbell. A slew of script rewrites later, Columbia pictures would give a big “nay” on the project. This momentary lapse however could ultimately be for the better however, as a full on television series would give audiences a far better breadth and scope of Butcher, the Boys and the mad world in which they live.
