]]> The 2015 action film Mad Max: Fury Road was directed and produced by George Miller who co-wrote the blockbuster film with, Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. It is the third sequel in the Mad Max franchise, depicting a bleak world, where water and gasoline are hard to come by. The original films starred superstar Mel Gibson but the fourth installment features Tom Hardy as the hero Max Rockatansky. Highly acclaimed by fans and critics alike, it is considered one of the best action movies in history grossing more than $377 million worldwide.

Mad Max:Fury Road already won a number of critic and guild awards and it received the second most amount of nominations at tonight’s 88th Academy Awards with ten. It is one of a few sequels in history to be nominated for Best Picture. The fourth installment of the Mad Max series is the first movie in the Mad Max Franchise to win not one but six (count them 6) Academy Awards, winning Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Makeup, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing.
