Dave Bautista has been standing up for James Gunn ever since Disney fired him from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Disney fired Gunn for some offensive tweets recently uncovered by hardcore right-wing Conservatives. In a new social media post, he calls out the studio once more, while also taking aim at Michael Cernovich, the man many people credit for getting Gunn fired.

In the video, Cernovich brags about his talents of writing hit pieces.

In the video that Dave Bautista shared, and tagged Disney in, Mike Cernovich and his wife can be seen bragging about taking public figures down. Cernovich boasts about shifting a narrative to get his point across. He alludes to the fact that he has no problem lying and making facts up to shift the public reputation of the person that he is attacking. Bautista had this to say about the video.

It’s unclear where all of the footage of Mike Cernovich admitting his tactics came from, but they were edited together out of context by a social media user who investigates Cernovich’s hit pieces. Regardless of your stance on James Gunn’s firing from Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Cernovich is perpetuating the divide of the United States through making up fake news.

Mike Cernovich is considered a hardcore right-wing Conservative. He is a huge Trump follower and argues with James Gunn on Twitter about his stance on Trump. It would not be a surprise if Mike got his other followers to drink the Kool-Aid or Hawaiian Punch and told them to bury Gunn.

Mike Cernovich has anti-women tweets all over his account but there are people who pretend to have a blind eye. The GOTG fans are thankful for Dave Bautista stepping to the plate for James Gunn.

Following back and forth reporting and rumors, a new bit has surfaced claiming that Disney, Marvel Studios and James Gunn are having “back channel” conversations which might lead to Gunn returning to his position as director of Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3.

Gunn was fired on July 20 after tweets from 2008-2011 resurfaced, showcasing an inappropriate and insensitive sense of humor at the time.

“Nobody is talking about it, but sources said that back channel conversations are taking place between Marvel Studios and Disney,” Deadline reports. “Sources said the Marvel contingent is trying to persuade Disney to explore a compromise that might bring Gunn back into the fold for Guardians 3, something that clearly would be best for the franchise. There is no clash or strong arming here.”

The latest report on Wednesday claimed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was planning to use Gunn’s script for the film, which had been completed before his firing. It was said that Gunn remained in high demand throughout Hollywood on the heels of his two Guardians movies becoming box office blockbusters in 2014 and 2017.

Studios such as Warner Bros. are said to be interested in collaborating with Gunn in the future, though legally they have to wait to engage in any true conversations until the dust (and contracts) with Disney completely settle.

I heard through the grapevine, Warner Bros. would like to see James Gunn at the helm of Suicide Squad 2 in the future.

“I’m told it’s a discussion that comes in the wake of the whole cast declaring their loyalty to Gunn, whose abrupt exit has put a thriving film franchise in a rocky place,” the new Deadline report goes on.

“One would have to label this 11th hour approach to be a long shot, but the community is talking about it.”

Whether or not Marvel Studios and Disney ultimately elect to rehire James Gunn as the film’s director is to be seen. The cast have voiced their desire to have him back on the franchise, with Drax actor Dave Bautista going as far as saying he would ask to be released from his contract should the movie not use Gunn or his script.

Marvel Studios can’t afford to lose Dave Bautista. He was one of the main highlights in Avengers Infinity War.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set for release in 2020.

A report from Variety indicates that Disney is unlikely to rehire Gunn, despite the support he’s received since being fired after old tweets about pedophilia and trans-misogyny surfaced. The report sources “multiple people familiar with the studio’s current thinking.”

“The feeling within both Disney and Marvel is that the dozens of so-called jokes that Gunn made about pedophilia and rape are unacceptable in the #MeToo era and are not in line with Disney’s family-friendly image,” the report states.

This comes after the outlet’s report that Disney was considering meeting with Gunn to discuss his possible reinstatement.

Disney is also facing a crisis over replacing Gunn in the very near future, with filming set to begin in 2019. Gunn wrote the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 already, and it’s likely that Disney would choose to get someone else to pen a new version so that they could sever the relationship with Gunn altogether.

On Monday, the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise revealed their united front on the ordeal, issuing a statement signed by every major player across both films, including Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.
