The creator and producer put the kibosh on Booster Gold occupying the DC Extended Universe along with Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl during an interview with Vulture. Previously, Berlanti was confirmed in having a hand in a live-action Booster Gold film by way of Warner Bros.  However, the BG film would be a standalone film, having no connection to the DCEU.

Zack Stentz, co-writer of X-Men: First Class, Thor, Power Rangers, and The Flash episodes ‘Monster’ and ‘The Runaway Dinosaur’,  created the script for the feature film, hinted at being a ‘buddy cop superhero movie’ starring Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, whose friendship in DC Comics lore has gone down as core material in their respective canons.

Created in 1986 by Dan Jurgens and featured in his own series, Booster Gold’s real name is Michael Jon Carter, a failed football player from 25th Century Gotham City. After Carter travels back in time to the present day DC Universe, he makes use of his futuristic technology to become a hero, at first eschewing traditional heroic notions of justice and nobility and instead signing endorsement deals and shamelessly self-promoting.

Oh, where to start! Buffy: The Vampire Slayer had a musical episode a decade or so ago, so it must be time for another one. The CW is dusting off the ole…” let’s sing our way through the strum and drang of our lives” gem and applying it to The Flash/Supergirl shows in a musical crossover.

I wonder who asked for this to happen? How did it get a green light, go ahead? Is it because both leads , Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist once worked worker together on Glee?

Whatever, it’s a go. Ever since Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) turned up in Supergirl’s World (Earth 3) a crossover has been in the works. Now that said Supergirl has crossed-over as show, from CBS to The CW family it’s second season, will definitely be different from the first in many ways as expected by the fans.

As per Comic Con rumors, later in both shows there will be a 4-part crossover with Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Supergirl in some capture, the superhuman enemy of the week showdown. After that will be a musical episode, of what nature has not be said, the musical episode is scheduled for next spring.

Showrunner, Greg Berlanti will feature “two original songs, a mix of covers” which will showcase the musical theater backgrounds of both leads and Mr Berlanti’s personal love of musical theater.

The two-parter is slated for the 13th episode of both shows.

So here it is, the deep mining into the pop culture annals for ideas instead of original creative projects….slated for a mid-season 2017 TV debut is “Riverdale”. The much beloved character of Archie Andrews, yep, Archie of the long lived Archie comics is now a part of  The CW family. The first season opens with a classmate going missing and turning up deceased in “Riverdale”, the fictional hometown of Archie and his friends, the town is trying to make sense of a tragic death tinged with mystery and loaded with unanswered questions.

Jason Blossom, a high school golden boy and twin of the Riverdale High’s queen bee Cheryl Blossom ( who knows more than she’s telling about her brother, his secrets and his death) meets a tragic death, a storyline that carries through the entire season. Let’s not forget the real story—the love triangle of Betty, Archie and Veronica….that’s there too, mixed in with other scandals of the good folk of “Riverdale”

There is a lot of excitement and anticipation around the launch of “Riverdale”, the cast was well received at Comic Con International in San Diego this summer. It was discussed that a dark tone, akin the 90’s Twin Peaks with the sex of Gossip Girl is what the creators and the show-runner Greg Berlanti are aiming for. “Riverdale” is  mix of tried and true seen it before stories, a mysterious death as a the constant thread, in addition to scandals, like Archie’s secret affair with his teacher Ms Grundy ( played by a much younger woman than portrayed the comic) no doubt there will be plenty of horny action, bed-hopping and skin in this game.

“Riverdale” has a twisty nature that will appeal to fans of The CW’s other dark toned programming such as “The Vampire Diaries”, “The Originals” and those in the “Arrowverse”, the show might just have a comfortable home there.
