Bronze Tiger is a fictional character in the DC Comics universe. There have been two different characters to assume the mantle of Bronze Tiger:

1. Ben Turner: The original Bronze Tiger, Ben Turner, first appeared in Richard Dragon, Kung Fu Fighter #1 in 1975. Ben Turner was a skilled martial artist who was initially an antagonist, serving as an enemy to Richard Dragon, the main character of the series. However, Turner eventually turned away from his criminal past and became a hero, often working alongside other DC Comics characters such as Batman and the Suicide Squad.

As Bronze Tiger, Ben Turner possesses exceptional martial arts skills and is considered one of the world’s greatest fighters. He is a master in various martial arts disciplines, including karate, kung fu, and judo. Bronze Tiger has been a member of the Suicide Squad and has also trained other characters in combat techniques.

2. Marcus Wise: In the New 52 continuity, a different character named Marcus Wise took on the role of Bronze Tiger. This version of Bronze Tiger first appeared in Suicide Squad Vol. 4 #1 in 2011. Marcus Wise is a highly trained assassin and mercenary who is recruited into the Suicide Squad, a team of supervillains coerced into carrying out dangerous missions for the government.

Both versions of Bronze Tiger are skilled fighters, but their backgrounds and storylines differ. Ben Turner’s portrayal often emphasizes his journey from villain to hero, while Marcus Wise’s portrayal focuses on his role as a member of the Suicide Squad.

Anime and Events

Convention season is officially cancelled. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics will take place in 2021. Spring and early Summer cons are cancelling to comply with the large gathering regulations. Crunchyroll Dubbing is experiencing delays, and new Spring titles are noticeably less. Though slowed, anime production is likely to continue, as most of the production aspects can be done digitally.

Comics

The Comics Industry has officially crashed. How? Diamond Comic Distributors is the exclusive direct market distributor for DC, Marvel, and many more. Earlier this month, Diamond announced they are forced to close due to COVID-19. This has put the print comics industry in a choke hold. For the indie side, it’s “pencils down” as production screeches to a halt. For DC and Marvel however, it’s “business as usual”. The big two are expected to release comics digitally as well as utilize smaller distribution companies.

Sales will undoubtedly decrease as most print comics do not sell well online. This is due to indie web comics following a tipping model rather than a purchase model. Sites like Webtoon and Tapas allow creators to earn revenue via ads and reader tipping. And while Comixology is the digital go-to for mainstream style comics, the print format is not web friendly.

Console Wars

Playstation and Microsoft have stated there is no production delay for their new consoles Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X respectively. This news comes as a pleasant surprise as a lot of industries are experiencing delays. Current specs for both are available on this IGN chart. With most of the specs being identical, price will remain priority. We at GeekCaster speculate Playstation will remain on top due to its international consumer base.

Meanwhile, Nintendo is right on time. In addition to the Animal Crossing release, the company had a surprise mini-direct. The direct hints at a new Smash DLC character. The character will be from Nintendo’s newest fighting game; ARMS. Characters Min Min and Twintelle are fan favorites and most speculated to join. The mystery character will release in June.

TV & Film

The Entertainment Industry is floundering. Production grinding to a halt. Release dates pushed back. Films direct-to-streaming. Streaming services like Netflix and Hulu are reducing video quality to conserve bandwidth as the world’s internet usage increases. Netflix is currently the least impacted, with most of it’s original titles wrapping up production just before the virus escalation. The second season of Altered Carbon aired in February. Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy is currently in post-production. The release of Disney+ in France and India is delayed, while the streaming service cuts bandwidth use by 25% in active countries.

Most noted film postponements are the Wonder Woman sequel, Wonder Woman 1984 and Black Widow. Both films feature a female lead, and both films follow the recent hype of Birds of Prey. Comic projects have finally started to focus on women in comics. Because of the virus, we have to wait a little longer.

Video Games

Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing recently shared a release date (March 20). Game Stop received a large amount of backlash after refusing to close for the releases. The video game retailer attempted to claim “essential business” status, citing their tech products as vital resources for the newly created home workforce. This did not go over well with many state and local governments, Pennsylvania even suspending the company’s business license for the state. Game Stop is set to close 300+ locations in 2020.

Blizzard servers are experiencing an increase in issues due to the surge in online play. Overatch and COD: Modern Warfare have seen an increase in wait time for online matches.

Cyborg joins Batman The Ride, Bizarro, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn Crazy Train, Superman: Ultimate Flight, The Joker, The Dark Knight Coaster, and 4D experience Justice League: Battle for Metropolis as the latest DC Comics-inspired attraction at the New Jersey theme park.

Six Flags Great Adventure next adds Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth — the world’s tallest pendulum ride — to its Metropolis area spring 2019.

Warner Bros. releases Aquaman in December, with new solos for Wonder Woman, Flash, and Batman now in the works — Fisher remains hopeful the studio will see the value in a Cyborg-led movie despite a likely costly price tag.

“I don’t know. I can’t comment on that specifically, because they don’t tell me anything until the very last minute,” Fisher said when asked about a Cyborg movie during New Jersey’s Heroes & Villains FanFest.

Despite no apparent movement on Cyborg, Fisher quelled recent rumors when he took to social media to shut down talks he was exiting the role. In other words, It is not yet known when Fisher next reprises his role of Victor Stone.

Cyborg is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez. Cyborg first appears in a special insert in DC Comics Presents #26.

According to a new tweet from The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez, the upcoming Joker origin movie will reportedly begin production in two weeks. This would place the start date for sometime around September 10th. The wait for production is finally over.

The film is set to be a low-budget film outside of the main DC Extended Universe continuity. The 80s-set, potentially R-rated film will see the Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) begin as a stand-up comedian, who turns to a life of crime and madness after a particularly bad performance.

“I wouldn’t quite classify this as like any genre,” Phoenix said in a recent interview. “I wouldn’t say it’s a superhero movie, or a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more then anything, and probably the most important thing, is Todd seems very passionate about it and very giving, and so that’s exciting. I think, underneath the excitement of these films, and the size of them, there are these incredible characters that are dealing with real life struggles.”

Phoenix continues to say, “And sometimes that is uncovered and exposed, and sometimes it isn’t, and so I always felt, like, there were characters in comics that were really interesting and deserve the opportunity to be kind of studied. And so I think that’s what Todd sees appealing about this idea.”

Joker is being directed by The Hangover and Due Date‘s Todd Phillips and executive produced by Martin Scorsese. In addition to Phoenix, the film will star Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, and Marc Maron. And as it turns out, Phoenix has had that sort of idea kicking around in his head for quite some time.

“Three or four years ago, I called my agent and said ‘Why don’t they want to take one of these characters and just make a lower budget film about it, a movie but a character study, and why not take one of the villains?’” Phoenix revealed in a recent interview. “And I thought, ‘You can’t do the Joker, because, you know, it’s just you can’t do that character, it’s just been done.’ So I was trying to think of other characters, and he said ‘I’ll set up a general meeting with Warner Bros.’ And I said ‘I’m not gonna go, I can’t go to a general meeting.’

So I completely forgot about it, and so then I heard about this idea, I was like, ‘Oh that’s so exciting, that’s the kind of experience I wanted to have, with a movie based on a comic character.’ I felt like you could get something on screen.”

Joker is expected to debut in theaters on October 4, 2019.

According to the report, Konechny will play Agent Jensen, a DEO agent recruited by Alex (Chyler Leigh) who struggles to find his footing at the DEO. His character will be introduced in the season premiere on Sunday, October 14.

Given that bio, it would not be hard to imagine him turning against the DEO, especially since Agent Liberty as the leader of a human supremacy group sounds like the setup for a season-long spy-vs-spy between his group and the DEO itself. That would track with a “more topical” season four, as has been teased in interviews.

That said, the notion of an agent grappling with his identity and a charismatic hate-monger leading an opposing group does not necessarily mean Jensen will end up on the side of the bad guys. Thematically, it might make more sense to redeem him, as they did last season with Reign.

“The writers’ room is being really great this year,” Benoist said during a recent interview. “Last season, it was a lot of fire and brimstone and a lot of homages to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was great because I was such a big fan of that show.

This season they really want to thematically tackle more topical stories that maybe mirror what’s going on with the state of the world and our country. There’s a lot of anti-alien sentiment at the beginning of Season 4 that Supergirl is going to have to grapple with. I think their main premise is that fear itself is a villain, and can hope conquer it? Supergirl stands for hope, so we’ll see. I think fear is her biggest opponent yet because it’s more of a wildfire-type emotion.”

Season 3 witnessed Supergirl battling conflict from within. This time fear will be her biggest foe. All of us can relate to dealing with fear and that is going to make Season 4 interesting to watch.

The fourth season of Supergirl will debut on Sunday, October 14th, at 8/7c on The CW.

Schwartz recently tweeted out the newest script title page for the season, which shows production information surrounding the fourth episode. Unlike previous reveals, the title for this one is mysteriously blacked out, with Schwartz hinting that the title could be alluding to a big reveal.

Fans will certainly be speculating about what this title could be, and how exactly it would factor into the upcoming season. The first three titles thus far – “Inmate 4587”, “The Longbow Hunters”, and “Crossing Lines” – have been fairly straightforward in comparison.

The season will begin with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) spending his time in a Supermax prison, after he unmasked himself as the Green Arrow and surrendered to the authorities. That decision will apparently lead to new threats both inside and outside Oliver’s cell, as Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) and his Longbow Hunters attempt to take over Star City even more.

With all of that in mind, it sounds like things could get somewhat controversial in Arrow’s seventh season — something that Amell and company are excited about.

“Obviously, you want to lean into things that you think fans would want, right?” Amell suggested in a previous interview. “Concurrently, I’m all for things that make fans mad, because mad is no different than happy. The only thing that I don’t want is indifference. I always joke with fans about my alter-ego, Evil Story Steve. If you were to tell me, you know, that four people died in the season premiere of Arrow in season seven, I’d be very sad … but my alter-ego, Evil Story Steve, would be like, ‘Oh – that’s very exciting; why’d that happen?’”

Personally I wouldn’t mind seeing a few chracters get killed off to make room for new characters to be introduced to the Arrowverse.

Matt Ryan has been embodying this character since the original solo Constantine series premiered in 2014 on NBC. He gave viewers 13 episodes of angels and demons, curses and possessions, and of course, cigarettes. Ryan reprised the role in Arrow Season 4 Episode 5 “Haunted” as well as the CW Seed animated series Constantine: City of Demons. Meaning, not only has this actor been living and breathing John Constantine, but he’s passionate about keeping this role on our screens and fully diving into his story. May we please give this guy his own movie? (I’m ignoring Keanu Reeves’ version).

And if that weren’t enough, like the character of Constantine himself, Ryan is from the UK, which means he gets to use his natural accent (sorry Mick, Amaya, and Jax) and again, I’m ignoring Keanu Reeves’ version. Ryan’s version embraces the characteristics set forth in the comics, including his bisexuality. Viewers were given a glimpse of it when he first graced the Waverider, but now that Sara and Ava are pretty much settled down, it’s time to move on and ship Constantine with EVERYONE!

Constantine has brought DC Legends of Tomorrow back to life (Cue “Bring me to life” – Evanescence) His character has so much going on that it blends well with the others. I can definitely see Constantine and Ray Palmer fight over Zari while exploring Constantine’s past in the upcoming season. The dyanamic between the two is similar to the way Heat Wave and Ray Palmer interact. During the triangle, a fight could break out between Constantine and The Atom. The Atom would be under a spell that brings out the hatred in him which he directs toward Constantine.

Regardless, the Legends will receive another badass character. He is informed about and is an expert on the occult and witchcraft. The team is full of brawn but sometimes lacks brains. Yes, Nate is a diligent historian, and Ray is the expert in the sciences, but when it comes to magic, they need John and his array of mystical knowledge.
