Hold on, let’s backtrack a little bit. Daron Nefcy’s Star vs. the Forces of Evil is a fantasy-adventure-comedy cartoon that focuses on two teens, Star Butterfly and Marco Diaz. Eden Sher is the lovely voice actress of Star and Adam McArthur, who voiced Lee-Char on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, voices Marco. The wonderful world of these fun loving 14 year-olds were first brought to tv screens on January 18th, 2015 on Disney XD.

Star is a magical princess from the dimension Mewni. She is sent to Earth to live with Marco as an “exchange student,” meanwhile she only ends up getting herself into trouble with Ludo, a short green chicken-monster from Mewni, who wants to steal her magic wand. Poor Marco, the “safety kid,” ends up getting dragged along into all of Star’s battles against the monsters of Mewni who managed to hop through the dimensions to find her. Personally, my favorite monster (and overall favorite character from the show) is Toffee, who is a crocodile in a business suit that kicks Ludo out of power and takes over the Mewni-monster party. So yeah. Now you understand why the show is called Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

The series was so popular amongst its vast aged audience, that it got renewed for a season 2 on February 12, 2015, and it even gained extra episodes. Season one only contained 16 episodes, yet season 2 will have 22 episodes. The first episode of the new season premiered on July 11 this year on Disney XD. Star vs. the Forces of Evil is having a great run so far with its well-missed relatable characters and quirky theme song and credits song.

Not only has Nefcy’s characters had a huge impact on the audience as the characters grow, develop, and teach everyone about the importance of friendship, but she has also had an impact on Disney itself. Daron Nefcy is the first woman in all of Disney history to create an animated series for Disney XD. You go girl! This Disney XD legend had originally worked on storyboards for Disney’s Wander Over Yonder and Nickelodeon’s Robot and Monster.

If you’re interested in this warm hearted animation, you should probably start binge-ing it soon, because Disney confirmed on March 6th 2016 that season 3 is going to happen.
