<p>Switching up the flow of news from the upcoming <strong>Doctor Strange</strong> movie, Kevin Feige has dropped some more (guarded) info on the future of the <strong>Marvel Cinematic Universe</strong>. With <strong>Phase Three</strong> of their leviathan-esque franchise kicking off in 2016, Feige and company gave waiting fans what they can in way of news during a recent interview with <strong>Empire</strong>.</p>
<p>Among the topics discussed were <strong>Captain America: Civil War</strong>, <strong>Guardians of the Galaxy</strong>, <strong>Thor</strong>, the recently acquired character of <strong>Spider-Man</strong> and &#8212; by no shall we forget &#8212; the <strong>Black Panther</strong>!</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><em><strong>“There’ve been many different incarnations of the Guardians over the years in the comics and we’ll catch a glimpse of additions over the course of the movie.”</strong></em></p>
<p>About Thanos, the Marvel franchise&#8217;s looming villain who will undoubtedly go against the team (whichever incarnation that may be), Feige says;</p>

<p><em><strong>“I wouldn’t look too hard in that movie for Thanos. The next time we see Thanos he will not be messing around. It will be, ‘Oh, that’s why they’ve been teasing this villain for five years!”</strong></em></p>
<p>From cosmic threats down to the street level, Feige offered a word or two on the status of <a href="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?ssl=1"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="10010" data-permalink="https://geekcaster.com/ses-comic-nook-news-details-marvels-phase-three-spider-man-thorragnarok-black-panther/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?fit=850%2C560&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="850,560" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}" data-image-title="spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850&amp;#215;560" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?fit=850%2C560&amp;ssl=1" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-10010" src="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?resize=300%2C198&#038;ssl=1" alt="spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560" width="300" height="198" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?resize=300%2C198&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?resize=194%2C128&amp;ssl=1 194w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?resize=620%2C408&amp;ssl=1 620w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?resize=192%2C128&amp;ssl=1 192w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/spider-man-civil-war-is-sam-raimi-coming-back-to-the-spider-man-franchise-850x560.jpg?resize=850%2C560&amp;ssl=1 850w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a>our friendly neighborhood web-head as well, and his stake in the broader MCU.</p>
<p><em><strong>“Smaller scale is all relative….&#8221;</strong></em>, says Feige. &#8220;<em><strong>It’s going to be as big and spectacular a Spider-Man film as has ever been made. But it’s a Peter Parker story and has more opportunity to be focused on the story of a 15-year-old kid going to high school.”</strong></em></p>
<p>From high school to the halls of Asgard, Feige went on to talk about what we may (or may not) expect from the upcoming Thor sequel, <strong>Ragnarok</strong>.</p>

It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk… The film takes place within the cosmos primarily, which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”</strong></em></p>
<p>Ragnarok was previously alluded to in <strong>Avengers: Age of Ultron </strong>and &#8212; judging from the tone of the scene &#8212; the third Thor film hints of a particularly dire situation for our thunder god and his Asgardian brethren.</p>
<p>And last &#8212; yet certainly not least &#8212; Feige talked about the upcoming, increasingly anticipated, <strong>Black Panther </strong>film, its cast, as well as its connection to the <strong>MCU</strong>.</p>

<p>Word from the fine folks over at <strong>Deadline</strong> says the members of the <strong>Transformers </strong>writing collective have signed on with <strong>Marvel Studios</strong> to co-write the upcoming sequel to this summer&#8217;s Phase 2 finale, alongside its star, Paul Rudd.</p>
<p><a href="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?ssl=1"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" data-attachment-id="9432" data-permalink="https://geekcaster.com/ses-comic-nook-news-writers-andrew-barrer-gabriel-ferrari-join-ant-man-wasp/scott-and-hope/" data-orig-file="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?fit=720%2C480&amp;ssl=1" data-orig-size="720,480" data-comments-opened="0" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}" data-image-title="Scott and Hope" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-large-file="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?fit=720%2C480&amp;ssl=1" class="alignleft wp-image-9432" src="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?resize=272%2C181&#038;ssl=1" alt="Scott and Hope" width="272" height="181" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?resize=192%2C128&amp;ssl=1 192w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?resize=620%2C413&amp;ssl=1 620w, https://i0.wp.com/geekcaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Scott-and-Hope.jpg?w=720&amp;ssl=1 720w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 272px) 100vw, 272px" /></a>  Barrer and Ferrari aren&#8217;t exactly strangers to the world of Ant-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as their previous &#8216;steez&#8217; include production re-write work for the original film, following the fairly noisy departure of the film&#8217;s original chosen director, Edgar Wright. Barrer, Ferrari and Rudd will work alongside another &#8216;almost&#8217; helmer of the size-altering superhero flick, Adam McKay, on the script before work begins on the full screenplay.</p>
<p>Ant-Man &amp; Wasp will see the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne as the titular Wasp, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man.</p>
<p><em><strong>“That was one of the things that was important to me in the first movie when I came on was emphasizing the Wasp more, both Hope Van Dyne and Janet Van Dyne,”</strong></em>  stated Reed <em><strong>“It’s a crucial part. It’s a crucial part because in the comic books, with the exception of the first handful of Ant-Man stories, Wasp came on pretty early on in the comics in the ’60s and you really thought of them as a partnership, a romantic partnership as well as a hero team. It’s going to be fun to play around with all the aspects of that in this movie.”</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>Ant-Man &amp; The Wasp</strong> is slated for release on July 6, 2018 in what will be the MCU&#8217;s Phase 3.</p>
