Look who’s tearing several pages from Disney’s playbook on building a franchise…….Assassin’s Creed hasn’t been released in theaters yet,but there is a sequel already in the development pipeline. Hollywood alpha male Michael Fassbender ( Fassy to his ardent fans) stars in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film and has already signed on for the sequel with the script sight unseen……if that doesn’t say faith in a budding franchise I don’t know what would.

Apparently Hollywood is ready to lays bets on AC being a outstanding moneymaker.

Fassbender plays a character not found in the Ubisoft game of the same name, but a man named Callum Lynch. The Callum Lynch character is made aware of  his powerful and mysterious bloodline after he is sentence to death for a serious crime, executed and then liberated by a shadowy organization. Lynch is taken by this secret society after his pronounced deceased and he is shown a new path and a dark past as he is descended of an 15th century assassin and is pressed to take up his ancestral place within the society.

It all comes down to how big the box office take will be for New Regency studio’s gamble but there is a bit of hiccup with who will direct any aforementioned sequels. Assassin’s Creed director Justin Kurzel who has worked Fassbender and others in the cast before has not signed on for any more films and there is currently not a peep or a rumor on who’s on the directorial shortlist.

Assassin’s Creed opens in theaters December 21st 2016.

After a long journey through the dark and twisty wasteland of movie development, movie studio Relativity has greenlit the long awaited reboot of James O’Barr’s “The Crow”.

The Wrap reports Jason Mamoa, the new Aquaman, has been cast as Eric Draven aka The Crow, Mamoa is set to begin filming in January after he completes work on Justice League.

The plot will be the same as the original source material in the 1989 series of the same name…..Eric Draven and his fiancee are murdered and he returns from the dead for vengeance.

James O’Barr the creator of “The Crow” graphic novels is reported to have an influential part in the story and style development of the film.

Oh, where to start! Buffy: The Vampire Slayer had a musical episode a decade or so ago, so it must be time for another one. The CW is dusting off the ole…” let’s sing our way through the strum and drang of our lives” gem and applying it to The Flash/Supergirl shows in a musical crossover.

I wonder who asked for this to happen? How did it get a green light, go ahead? Is it because both leads , Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist once worked worker together on Glee?

Whatever, it’s a go. Ever since Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) turned up in Supergirl’s World (Earth 3) a crossover has been in the works. Now that said Supergirl has crossed-over as show, from CBS to The CW family it’s second season, will definitely be different from the first in many ways as expected by the fans.

As per Comic Con rumors, later in both shows there will be a 4-part crossover with Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Supergirl in some capture, the superhuman enemy of the week showdown. After that will be a musical episode, of what nature has not be said, the musical episode is scheduled for next spring.

Showrunner, Greg Berlanti will feature “two original songs, a mix of covers” which will showcase the musical theater backgrounds of both leads and Mr Berlanti’s personal love of musical theater.

The two-parter is slated for the 13th episode of both shows.

So here it is, the deep mining into the pop culture annals for ideas instead of original creative projects….slated for a mid-season 2017 TV debut is “Riverdale”. The much beloved character of Archie Andrews, yep, Archie of the long lived Archie comics is now a part of  The CW family. The first season opens with a classmate going missing and turning up deceased in “Riverdale”, the fictional hometown of Archie and his friends, the town is trying to make sense of a tragic death tinged with mystery and loaded with unanswered questions.

Jason Blossom, a high school golden boy and twin of the Riverdale High’s queen bee Cheryl Blossom ( who knows more than she’s telling about her brother, his secrets and his death) meets a tragic death, a storyline that carries through the entire season. Let’s not forget the real story—the love triangle of Betty, Archie and Veronica….that’s there too, mixed in with other scandals of the good folk of “Riverdale”

There is a lot of excitement and anticipation around the launch of “Riverdale”, the cast was well received at Comic Con International in San Diego this summer. It was discussed that a dark tone, akin the 90’s Twin Peaks with the sex of Gossip Girl is what the creators and the show-runner Greg Berlanti are aiming for. “Riverdale” is  mix of tried and true seen it before stories, a mysterious death as a the constant thread, in addition to scandals, like Archie’s secret affair with his teacher Ms Grundy ( played by a much younger woman than portrayed the comic) no doubt there will be plenty of horny action, bed-hopping and skin in this game.

“Riverdale” has a twisty nature that will appeal to fans of The CW’s other dark toned programming such as “The Vampire Diaries”, “The Originals” and those in the “Arrowverse”, the show might just have a comfortable home there.

In ‘Captain America: Civil War’ one character really stood out for fans…Black Panther’s Security Chief, a member of the lethal Dora Milaje portrayed by Florence Kasumba. Ms Kasumba had one line ( said to Black Widow) and it was killah “Move or you will be moved” a line repeated around the internet and in the streets with fervor and awe. With this one line, a bald head, a high fashion beauty sense and her badassness, Florence has netted a role in the much talked about stand-alone “Wonder Woman” movie as Senator Acantha, an Amazon of Themyscira.

Florence will also make a return appearance in the stand-alone Black Panther movie as the aforementioned Security Chief and possibly the leader of the elite Dora Milaje; Wakandan women who work as bodyguards for Black Panther.
Last summer was a white-wash summer depending on the director, Ridley Scott I’m looking at you and I could throw in the Oscars for good measure. Many people are talking about the diversity issues of Hollywood offline and online, but lets hope with the addition of Senator Acantha, the writers and producers remember that Themyscira is a diverse place and there will be no “Gods of Egypt” like white washing.

Apparently there is an almost network show that has quite the fan base. A very vocal fan base with two competing sides. Two sides that really dislike each other. Hate would normally be the word I would use but it is the holiday season. Anyway, lets back up and start at the beginning. When this show first began, the writers thought it was definitely going to go in one direction. The problem was that this B- list mostly television actress who is an offspring was thisclose to getting fired because she was so bad. She didn’t take it seriously and there was no chemistry between her and the lead. Instead of protesting what could be considered a demotion, she was pretty crafty and has spent the past several years formulating her plan. She has a group of men who work in various fields, whether it be publicity, production or management that have enjoyed her special talents. Not only has she rivaled the lead of the show for most media coverage, but she is set to be launched with her own show. She will be the star. That is what she has always wanted and now the new show will revolve around her. As part of her wrangling behind the scenes, she wants some power. Producer power. She won’t be a showrunner, but she does want to have veto power over the stars who come on to the show. One of the people who won’t be making an appearance is the person who “replaced” her in one of the storylines. The two can’t stand each other. It is our B lister who has been pushing since last summer to have her killed off so that the star can have a new love interest. Possibly the new cast member coming to the show.
